Lewisville Auto Repair

I came in due to an engine light, and car felt as though it was racing. I was told I will be charged a $150 diagnosis fee, but if I opt to repair with them, they will reduce the fee to just $50. Turns out it was a transmission issue they didn’t have the capability at their facility to fix. I was planning to have it done there itself if they were able to fix. I was told I would need to take it to a dealership but they were not willing to atleast reduce the diagnosis fee since I had no other option.

It started off fine. Took mechanic 2 hours to do an oil change and an inspection. Said I failed the inspection cause of the gas cap. Did not explain that to me while I was there. Had to go to a Nissan dealership to find that out then went to auto zone to buy a new gas cap. Why couldn’t he (Honest mechanic) just have told me from jump what was wrong. And he left my car running while I was checking out. Gas too high for that. When I came back for re-inspection, it took another hour and a half for them to check the new gas cap. If I had not said anything about a car that got there AFTER me going before me I would have been there another 2 hours for a $17 gas cap. I will not be returning. Unfortunate that I had the experience I had. I will say however the front desk staff was pleasant.

I’m a six-time repeat customer of Honest-1 because the level of technical proficiency, communication, customer service and professionalism is usually excellent. However, my most recent visit was disappointing. Communication, professionalism and honesty were excellent, but accountability and customer service was not. My vehicle was taken in three times for the same issue over a span of 5 months I believe, and never repaired completely. Honest-1 expected me to pay for its oversight on what was called, “a standard repair procedure.” My complaint is due to the fact that the procedure is standard, so I expect any technician to know what’s standard. Unfortunately, Honest-1 requested that I pay for its multiple attempts at repairing the part using a standard procedure. I don’t think I should be held responsible for the cost of the repair. I have certainly appreciated the service in the past, but this most recent lack of accountability and customer is my reason for the 1 star.

I feel so much safer now. Very complete safety inspection revealed a few issues I would have let slide due to other life distractions. I love the good clear way everything was communicated. Nice friendly, caring people. Snacks, rides, pleasant environment too. Just super.

I had an excellent experience with Honest-1! The staff (Jose in particular) were very helpful and communicative, I always felt like they were keeping me in the loop as best they could. Repairs were completed promptly and fixed the issues I was having, and they even let me know some of the work I had requested would be redundant which chopped a large portion off the initial estimate. Excellent service, I'd highly recommend them.
